כִּלְכּוּל, כִּילְ׳, כַּלְכָּלm. (כִּלְכֵּל) 1) hair-crown (cmp. כְּלִילָא), front hair from temple to temple. Sabb.VIII, 4 (78b) כדי לעשות כ׳ (Bab. ed. כלכל; Ms. M. כדי לסוד כי׳, v. Rabb. D. S. a. l. note) enough to produce a crown by depilation of under-growth. Ib. 80b, v. אַנְדִּיפֵי. Naz.3a (ref. to Mish. I, 1 הריני מכלכל) how do we know דהאי כ׳ שערו הוא that this vow refers to letting the hair grow?Nidd.52b; Tosef. ib. VI, 6 (ref. to the hair around the pudenda as evidence of maturity) כ׳ זה איני יורע (מהו) about this kilkul I know nothing. 2) support, sustenance. Naz. l. c. אימא מיזן עניי I may say that the kilkul (of the Mishnah, v. supra) means supporting the poor.
